Former James Finlay tea workers move to Scottish court over injuries
October 18, 2021

Water Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui told the Senate ad- hoc committee probing the Solai Dam tragedy that the Patel Dam which burst in may killing 47 people was not licensed and thus it was illegal. The committee has recomended prosecution of official who issued illegal permits for the construction of a weir without proper inspection. The committee learnt that the owner of the Solai dam illegally operated a dam that would hold 2000 cubic metres of water. The senate had to adjourn the proceedings as the water Resource Management Authority CEO who appeared earlier today did not have all the relevant documents some of which they suspect to have been doctored.
